Disney Honors 15 Teachers With Magic Kingdom Parade and $150,000 in STEAM Grants

The celebration pairs public recognition with training that teachers can put to work right away.

Overview

  • Fifteen educators from across the United States served as honorary grand marshals in a Main Street, U.S.A. parade at Magic Kingdom as part of Disney Imagination Campus and ABC’s Abbott Elementary Teachers Celebration.
  • The honorees were selected from thousands of entries in the 2026 Disney Teachers Sweepstakes and represented elementary, middle, and high schools.
  • Over a multi-day visit to Walt Disney World, they joined behind-the-scenes Imagination Campus workshops and sessions with Disney leaders that covered performing arts, science and technology, arts and humanities, and leadership and innovation.
  • General Motors, working with DonorsChoose, a nonprofit that helps teachers fund classroom needs, is giving $150,000 in grants to support STEAM projects that can benefit other educators and students in the winners’ communities.
  • Each teacher received a four-day, three-night resort stay plus a private reception and fireworks viewing sponsored by GM, giving them time to connect with peers and shape classroom takeaways.
