- Disney officially greenlit The Cheetah Girls: Next Gen and announced the project on Wednesday, with Raven-Symoné reprising Galleria Garibaldi and serving as an executive producer.
- Adrienne Bailon returns as Chanel and Sabrina Bryan will make a special appearance while Leah Sava’ Jeffries leads a new quartet as Faith, Galleria’s daughter.
- The new cast also includes Carmen Sanchez, Kaileen Chang, Sophie Lennon and South African newcomer Kamogelo Ramashala, who was found via Disney’s global open casting call.
- Bille Woodruff directs with Debra Martin Chase and Raven-Symoné executive producing, the screenplay is by Kara Holden, Sarah Watson and Deborah Swisher, choreography is by Kyle Hanagami, and production starts in South Africa this month.
- One original member, Kiely Williams, is not attached at this time and fans have raised immediate concerns about the new ensemble’s representation while Disney has not announced a release date.
