Disney Files Permit to Install 'The Walt Disney Studios' Marquee at Hollywood Studios

The filing signals late-stage work on the Animation Courtyard overhaul targeting a phased reopening this summer.

Technical directors with Disney Live Entertainment filed a permit contracting Jon Richards Company to fabricate and install the marquee at the former archway address.
Earlier Walt Disney Imagineering permits covered signage installation and electrical work for the same area, pointing to separate elements being handled by different contractors.
The retheme will present Animation Courtyard as The Walt Disney Studios lot inspired by Disney’s Burbank campus.
Reopening is expected this summer on a phased basis, with one outlet reporting a May 26 courtyard debut that has not been officially announced by Disney.
The refreshed area is set to feature a returned Magic of Disney Animation inspired by Once Upon a Studio, an Olaf-led Animation Academy called Olaf Draws!, six character meet-and-greets, a Mary Blair–inspired Alice in Wonderland playground, a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse stage show, expanded green space, and a large sorcerer hat.
