Disney Cruise Line Sets New Alcohol, Photography and Door-Decoration Rules

The changes aim to align guest limits with wider cruise practice and clarify what travelers can bring and display on board.

Overview

  • Disney Cruise Line will roll out three fleet-wide policy updates starting June 3 that cover what alcohol guests may bring at embarkation, which photography equipment is allowed, and where stateroom decorations may be placed.
  • Under the alcohol rule each guest 21 or older may bring one unopened 750 ml bottle of wine or champagne or six 12-ounce beers in carry-on luggage, the dining room corkage fee is reduced to $20 per bottle, and wine and beer bought in port will be held until the end of the voyage.
  • Selfie sticks, handheld extension poles, and tripods are now permitted if they fold down to the ship’s size limit for use in most areas, and guests must store longer items in their staterooms for use ashore.
  • Stateroom door decorating is limited to the door surface only and must follow existing guidelines to prevent corridor obstruction and door damage.
  • Separate passenger reports say the Disney Adventure may be testing a $5 room-service delivery fee plus an automatic 18% gratuity to ease long delivery waits, but Disney has not confirmed that charge and the community is watching whether it will be expanded.
