Disney Confirms 13‑Month Refurbishment of Coronado Springs Convention Center

Phased overnight work will keep the resort open despite leaving event planners uncertain because Disney has not published a phase schedule or revealed finished-design details.

Overview

  • Disney confirmed the Convention Center at Coronado Springs will close in phases for a 13-month refurbishment beginning on Aug. 10, 2026 and running through late September 2027.
  • The project scope explicitly includes the Coronado Ballroom, the Fiesta Ballroom, the Veracruz Exhibition Hall, 45 breakout rooms and the El Centro Corridor that links the meeting spaces to the rest of the resort.
  • Most construction will be done overnight and Disney says the resort hotel, pools, dining, transportation and outdoor event spaces will remain open, though guests may see noise, reroutes or localized closures near El Centro.
  • Disney has not released a phasing schedule or any finished-design visuals, creating immediate uncertainty for planners who must now reassess availability or seek alternate dates and venues for 2026–2027 events.
  • Because Coronado Springs offers roughly 220,000 square feet of meeting space and heavy event infrastructure, the work will remove significant indoor capacity from the Central Florida market and push some groups to outdoor or other on‑property venues.
