Disney and AccuWeather Launch Disney Weather Check for Parks and Resorts

The service gives guests hyperlocal forecasts that tie location-specific alerts to the same safety advisories Disney uses for operations.

Overview

  • AccuWeather and Disney Experiences announced a long-term, global co-development licensing agreement that launched Disney Weather Check on May 28 through the AccuWeather mobile experience.
  • The platform activates geo-fenced features when guests enter a property and delivers custom hourly forecasts, AccuWeather MinuteCast precipitation timing, RealFeel temperature, and localized UV indices.
  • Disney Weather Check is available at five properties — Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland Resort, Aulani, Disney’s Vero Beach Resort, and Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort — and is accessed inside the AccuWeather app via QR codes, the App Store, Google Play, or the AccuWeather website.
  • Guest-facing alerts from the service are aligned with the same operational weather advisories Disney uses to trigger safety protocols so guests and cast members see consistent, location-specific guidance.
  • The launch reflects a wider shift toward real-time, location-aware tools for theme parks and could reduce disruptions from sudden storms, lightning and heat while making on-site planning more precise without adding a separate Disney app.
