Digimon Story: Time Stranger Gets 60fps PS5 Patch, Terriermon and Photo Mode

The scheduled July 9 update signals Bandai Namco is delivering promised performance fixes ahead of the Switch release on July 10.

Overview

  • Bandai Namco will release a PS5 patch on July 9 that adds a 60 frames-per-second performance mode to replace the game's long-standing 30fps cap.
  • The same update will add Terriermon Assistant as a playable party member and introduce an in-field photo mode for player snapshots.
  • Nintendo Life reports the update will roll out to all platforms alongside the full Switch and Switch 2 releases on July 10 and will also add a Digifarm Digivolution-conditions screen and graphics mode selection.
  • A Switch eShop demo released on June 10 highlighted selectable Performance (up to 60fps) and Quality (4K/30fps) modes on Switch 2, illustrating the parity Bandai Namco is moving to achieve across consoles.
  • After eight months of community complaints about PS5 performance, the patch gives players smoother frame rates and new content now, and the publisher plans further DLC for 2027 that could extend the game's content and balance changes.
