- The proposal would add 24 months to current limits, taking eligibility from 36 to 60 months for most holders and from 54 to 78 months for others.
- Under standard UK rules, most foreign drivers must switch to a UK licence or pass a test within 12 months of becoming a resident, and this plan would further extend the special window already granted to Ukrainians since 2022.
