DFB Finalizes Sanctions on Magdeburg With €186,600 Fine and Partial Stand Closures

Ticket holders in blocks 3–6 lose entry for the 13 March home match.

Overview

  • The DFB sport court’s ruling is now legally binding after 1. FC Magdeburg declined further appeals.
  • Blocks 3–6 of the north stand will be closed for the home game against SV Darmstadt 98 on 13 March, with tickets for those areas invalidated while blocks 1, 2 and 7 remain valid.
  • A second partial spectator ban was imposed but suspended on probation, leaving an additional closure contingent on future conduct.
  • The total fine of €186,600 includes €126,600 for extensive pyrotechnics and €60,000 for clashes between supporters and police.
  • More than 70 officers were injured in the January incidents, the DFB cited repeat offenses in setting the penalty, and the club is advancing guest-area reconfiguration and upgraded camera surveillance as sponsors review the fallout.
