Deutsche Bahn to Halve Long-Distance Trains Between Augsburg and Munich During April 26–May 3 Works

The plan limits access to Munich Hauptbahnhof by routing key trains to Pasing or Ostbahnhof.

Overview

  • Deutsche Bahn will renew track infrastructure on the AugsburgMunich line from April 26 to May 3, cutting the usual long-distance service to about half yet keeping at least hourly trains.
  • ICE line 47 will not run in Bavaria during the works, with trains starting and ending in Stuttgart instead of providing the Munich–Dortmund link.
  • ICE line 18 to Berlin and Hamburg will skip Munich Hauptbahnhof for the period, starting and finishing at München-Pasing.
  • ICE line 62 services that usually begin or end in Munich will use Pasing rather than the main station, while trips from Salzburg that terminate or start in Munich will still reach the Hauptbahnhof.
  • In a separate disruption, a technical fault at the Petershausen interlocking halted regional trains between Munich and Ingolstadt, prompting bus links to Petershausen, S‑Bahn transfers into Munich, early turnarounds for RE1 and RB16, and an estimate of restored traffic by 18:00.
