DeSean Jackson Sued Over Alleged Delaware State Locker-Room Assault and ‘Tough Guy’ Culture

The civil case could trigger deeper scrutiny of how the program polices locker-room conduct.

Overview

  • Former defensive back Malachi Biggs filed the civil suit in Delaware Superior Court on Thursday, naming Delaware State, head coach DeSean Jackson, assistant coach Travis Clark, operations director Jane Hicks, and player Anthony Hebert.
  • The complaint says Hebert put Biggs in a chokehold on Nov. 19, 2025, causing him to lose consciousness and suffer multiple jaw fractures, a chin laceration that required surgery, and extensive dental injuries.
  • The filing alleges coaches fostered a “tough guy” mentality, used gang-associated slang, dismissed violent bullying as “horseplay,” and failed to punish Hebert, who allegedly played days later and later joined the staff.
  • Biggs left campus for treatment in North Carolina after the alleged assault and is seeking damages for medical bills, pain and suffering, and lost earnings.
  • Jackson denied fostering hazing or violence and said he will not comment during litigation, while Delaware State declined comment and no criminal charges have been reported.
