- Deputies located the vehicle, attempted a stop and pursued it for a short distance before the chase ended on Wandering Ridge Drive and officers ordered occupants out of the car.
- A passenger complied and was taken into custody while the driver walked to the trunk, fired into it, and was then shot and killed by deputies who returned fire.
- First responders discovered the victim inside the trunk; both the victim and the driver were pronounced dead at the scene and authorities say no deputies were injured.
