Deputies Kill Driver After Kidnap Victim Found Shot in Trunk in Chino Hills

The arrest of a passenger plus evidence seized at an Irvine home will be sent to the district attorney for charging review.

Overview

  • Sheriff’s deputies stopped a Nissan after 911 calls about gunfire and screams and a short pursuit ended on Wandering Ridge Drive where the driver was shot and later died.
  • Officers discovered a man in the car’s trunk who had been shot and was pronounced dead at the scene.
  • Investigators identified the victim as 60-year-old Shukur Aikebaer and the two suspects as 67-year-old Zhengfeng Bo, who was killed by deputies, and 66-year-old Jianquan Bo, who was arrested and booked on murder and kidnapping charges.
  • Authorities say the attack began with a deliberate power cut that drew Aikebaer outside of his Monteverde Drive home before he was shot, put in the trunk and driven away.
  • Detectives executed a search warrant at the suspects’ Irvine residence, recovered evidence, are continuing the homicide probe and will forward the case to the San Bernardino County district attorney for review.
