Denza Unveils Production Z Convertible at Beijing Auto Show

The drop-top signals Denza’s push into Europe’s luxury performance market.

Overview

  • The BYD-owned luxury brand showed the four-seat soft-top on Friday at Beijing’s auto show with the company claiming more than 1,000 hp and a sub-2.0 second 0–100 km/h time.
  • The car features steer-by-wire steering, a magnetorheological DiSus-M suspension with road sensing, and carbon-fiber components to reduce weight.
  • BYD says the Z uses its Blade Battery with Flash Charging 2.0, with claims of minutes-long top-ups and a plan to install its own fast chargers in Australia from late 2026.
  • Track testing is underway at Germany’s Nürburgring ahead of a public dynamic debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July.
  • Denza aims to take on established European supercars with coupe, convertible, and track variants planned and a contest now running to name the three versions.
