Denza Rolls Out First Major OTA Update for B5 and B8 in Australia

The update applies BYD-derived off-road firmware from Beer O’Clock Hill testing to add towing controls and refine low-speed traction for owners.

The over-the-air version 1.1.0 was released Thursday, May 28, 2026, and is available now for Denza B5 and B8 owners in Australia to download.
Towing-specific tools include cruise control that works with a trailer, a towing-mode shortcut, trailer-weight input for performance tuning, and dynamic range estimation on the B8.
Revised traction-control algorithms and a new Crawl mode tuned for low-speed off-road control come from firmware used during Denza’s Beer O’Clock Hill test runs and BYD-related engineering.
Cabin and safety tweaks add a head-up display that shows indicator status, a touchscreen driver password lock, and improved anti-jam resistance for the B8’s folding second and third rows.
Denza says the OTA fixes and features respond to customer feedback and real-world testing, which lets it improve vehicles without hardware changes and sets the stage for further range expansion such as the planned Z9 GT in Q3.
