Denza Logs 1,000 Australian Orders as BYD Luxury Off-Road SUVs Launch
Dealers are courting the new marque as its pricing targets Prado and LandCruiser buyers.
Overview
- The brand’s local debut features two plug-in hybrid SUVs, the B5 from $74,990 plus on-roads and the larger B8 from $91,000 before on-roads.
- COO Mark Harland says more than 2,000 test drives with pre-production cars have yielded about a 50 percent conversion into signed orders, with most demand for the B5.
- Denza reports early trade-ins from Toyota Prado and LandCruiser owners as well as Audi Q7/Q8, BMW X5 and Range Rover customers.
- Retail expansion is accelerating, with plans to grow from about four or five dealers to 12 in the coming months and a longer-term target of 20–25 locations, while some dealers offer to replace existing brands.
- Separately, a Chinese MIIT filing details Ti7 electric variants with single- and dual-motor LFP Blade batteries, and BYD says local off-road tuning work is underway in Queensland as it evaluates future models for Australia.
