Chapter 5, released June 26, 2026, offers three distinct outcomes: a Normal Ending that follows the main story, a collectible-gated Secret Boss Ending, and a radically different Weird Route Ending.
The Secret Boss Ending requires finding at least 10 Pink Coins, buying the Mysterious Key in the Cliffs, and leads to a tough boss fight against Mad Mew Mew for a Shadow Crystal reward.
The Weird Route, started by specific multi-chapter actions traced back to Chapter 2 and continued in Chapter 4, skips much of the Dark World and ends with a CRT-style “Insert Chapter 7 Side B” screen plus a special completion file marked “_b”.
Reports from Kotaku say finishing the Weird Route may forcibly create persistent Weird Route save data even after manual changes, a developing claim that players fear could block future gear or content unless confirmed by the developer.
Players can sometimes abort the Weird Route by choosing to stop Noelle during the lake sequence, but doing so can leave permanent narrative changes and may prevent access to the Chapter 5 secret boss and cross-chapter items such as components for the Twisted Sword.
