Overview
- Delta will restart nonstop JFK–SNA flights on May 7, 2026, operating six days a week (Sunday through Friday) with a Boeing 757-200 in the 75S configuration featuring 16 lie-flat Delta One seats.
- The route becomes Delta’s third premium transcontinental service from New York, complementing existing Delta One flights to Los Angeles and San Francisco.
- Premium-cabin passengers will be marketed as Delta One and will receive access to the Delta One Lounge and premium check-in at JFK.
- Delta last operated JFK–SNA in 2019 and ended the service after losing takeoff and landing rights in John Wayne Airport’s slot allocation process.
- American currently flies the route daily with its A321T, while observers note its planned shift to the heavier A321XLR and SNA’s short runway could limit future viability; United serves Newark–SNA without a premium-configured aircraft.
