Delta Launches $1 Billion Cabin Overhaul With Next‑Gen Delta One Suites

The investment signals Delta’s push to capture more high‑margin premium travel.

Overview

  • Delta, which announced the redesign on Monday, will debut the new Delta One suites on its Airbus A350‑1000 in early 2027 and start refreshing many A330‑200/300 jets later in 2026.
  • The suite focuses on sleep with a lie‑flat bed that is three inches longer, a built‑in pillow‑top cushion, more knee room, and added storage such as a shoe cubby and an eyeglass hook.
  • Each suite features a 24‑inch 4K screen with Bluetooth for personal headphones, wireless phone charging, USB‑C and AC power, and a self‑serve refreshment station for business‑class flyers.
  • Delta says the A350‑1000 will be its most premium‑heavy widebody yet with roughly half the cabin in higher‑priced seats and about 50 Delta One suites planned on each jet.
  • By 2030, Delta expects about 90% of its Delta One seats to include sliding doors, with the new seat built on Thompson Aero’s VantageNOVA platform and a Thales entertainment system to help standardize cabins and support very long routes that executives cited, such as India and Riyadh.
