- Decision Support System data show the largest local PM2.5 share from vehicular emissions at about 15.3%, followed by industry (7.6%), residential sources (3.7%), construction dust (2.1%) and waste burning (1.3%), with nearby districts also contributing.
- Chandigarh’s AQI turned poor at 213, with the IMD citing temperature inversion and shallow fog as key drivers as a cold wave alert was issued for parts of the region.
- Lahore’s November air quality improved year on year with no ≥300 AQI days and a 56% drop in daily peak PM2.5 to 237 µg/m³, though every day still exceeded Punjab’s 35 µg/m³ health limit, and separate readings on Dec 5 showed fresh spikes across Punjab cities.
