Delhi Waives Morning Entry Fees at Select DDA Parks and Heritage Sites

Officials frame the waiver as part of the Fit India push tied to walk-to-work planning.

Overview

  • The Delhi Development Authority, following Thursday's direction from Lt. Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu, removed entry charges until 10:00 AM at certain parks and heritage sites.
  • The waiver covers Mehrauli Archaeological Park, Baansera, Asita, Kranti Udhyan, Vatika, Atal Sadbhavana Park, Vasudev Ghat, Vaishnavi Park, DDA Green in Dwarka Sector 16-D, Amrut Bio-Diversity Park, Lala Hardayal Park in Jasola, and Smriti Van in Narela.
  • The authority said all other DDA parks already remain free for the public.
  • Officials said the move aims to help morning walkers and joggers take up outdoor exercise under the national Fit India campaign.
  • Sandhu linked the step to a Transit Oriented Development plan that promotes walk-to-work areas near Metro and rapid rail hubs.
