The cash-transfer plan for women still awaits clear rules and a registration portal.

Overview

  • The plan, presented Tuesday by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, allocates ₹7,406 crore to the Women and Child Development Department and sets aside ₹5,110 crore for the Mahila Samriddhi Yojana.
  • Despite funding and earlier cabinet approval, the ₹2,500-per-month Mahila Samriddhi scheme has not launched because eligibility rules and the online application system are not final.
  • Education receives ₹19,326 crore with free bicycles for about 1.3 lakh girls in Classes 9 and above and laptops for high-scoring Class 10 students, along with funds for smart classrooms and new school buildings.
  • Women’s safety funding includes ₹225 crore to maintain CCTV networks and add 50,000 cameras, plus ₹50 crore to replace Public Works Department road lights with smart LEDs to reduce dark spots.
  • New schemes target livelihoods and savings, including DURGA e‑auto permits for 1,000 women and 100 transgender persons and the Delhi Lakhpati Betiya Yojana with ₹128 crore to build a girl’s savings over time.
