Overview
- The Economic Survey will be tabled on March 23, followed by the Delhi government’s 2026–27 budget presentation on March 24.
- The session dates were approved in a Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, who holds the finance portfolio and will present the BJP government’s second budget since February 2025.
- Officials indicated the budget could be slightly higher than last year’s approximately ₹1 lakh crore, with expected emphasis on education, health, infrastructure and green initiatives.
- The Cabinet approved Barapullah Phase-III with a revised cost of ₹1,635.03 crore and a completion target of June 30, 2026 to extend signal-free connectivity between East and South Delhi.
- A six-lane elevated corridor with underpasses on MB Road from Saket G-Block to Pul Prahladpur was cleared at ₹1,471.14 crore, to be executed by DMRC in two phases.
