Overview
- Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said on May 25 that about 2.65 lakh people were assisted by Mobile Heat Relief Units between May 6 and May 23.
- Mobile units are operating across all 13 Delhi districts with daily location changes to reach crowded areas and needy people.
- The government has established 14 Cooling Zones so far, each with seating for 100 people, cold water, desert coolers, high-speed fans and first-aid supplies.
- Between May 6 and May 23 authorities distributed roughly 1.14 lakh litres of cold water, more than 100,000 ORS packets, 44,646 gamchas and 30,864 caps, and deployed ten Civil Defence volunteers at each centre.
- The campaign focuses on commuters, rickshaw pullers and outdoor labourers, will be expanded to remaining districts this week, and will continue through July to reduce heatstroke risk and ease pressure on emergency services.
