Overview
- Transport officials identified roughly 20 acres at the Bhalswa landfill for a planned inter-state bus terminal, subject to a formal feasibility assessment.
- Reclamation of the 70-acre site is ongoing with less than 10–12 acres cleared so far and a completion target set for December 2026.
- Officials say the terminal would serve buses from Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan to improve connectivity in north Delhi and ease pressure on Kashmere Gate and the Outer Ring Road.
- Delhi operates more than 4,000 electric buses and will induct 200 more this month, with the fleet projected to reach 7,500 by year-end.
- Charging facilities are live at 44 depots with networks under development at 36 more, as the minister also ordered a UER-II depot feasibility study, upgrades at Burari, and April launch of ATS at Nand Nagri and Tehkhand.
