Delhi Private Schools Publish First Admission Lists for Nursery, KG and Class 1

Parents can seek clarifications on point allocations from January 24 to February 3 under the Directorate’s grievance window.

Overview

  • First merit lists for 2026–27 were released citywide by 1,741 private unaided schools, covering about 1.25 lakh applicants including waiting lists.
  • Parents may check school websites now and visit campuses between January 24 and February 3 for queries and admission formalities, as directed by the DoE.
  • The second list is scheduled for February 9, a further query window will run from February 10 to 16, and the overall process is set to close on March 19.
  • Selections follow a published points system based on factors such as neighbourhood distance, sibling status and alumni association, with each applicant’s points displayed.
  • Oversight measures include a district monitoring cell, mandatory parent-present, video-recorded draws of lots if required, and restrictions that limit schools to a Rs 25 non-refundable registration fee with no capitation charges.
