Delhi Police Question CEO, HR in Intern Harassment Case

The probe is testing the firm’s compliance with India’s workplace harassment law.

Overview

  • Investigators questioned the CEO and a human resources executive on Friday after a 20-year-old former intern accused leaders at a South Delhi digital marketing firm of sexual harassment and inaction.
  • An FIR filed at Saket Police Station on May 3 cites Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita sections 74, 75, 79, 351 and 3(5), which cover assault to outrage modesty, sexual harassment, insulting a woman’s modesty, criminal intimidation and common intention.
  • The intern, who joined through a university placement on November 24, 2025, reported late-night calls, remarks about her appearance, unwanted touching including a hand-kiss, and threats to ruin her career if she spoke out.
  • Police are verifying whether the company had a legally required Internal Complaints Committee under the POSH Act, as sources say the firm employs more than 20 people and the intern’s complaints to HR were allegedly not addressed.
  • Officers say no arrests have been made as statements are recorded and facts are checked, a process that could spur broader reviews of corporate grievance systems and protections for interns placed through universities.
