Delhi Police Nab Fugitive ‘Bobby Kabootar’ and Partner Linked to Bishnoi–Hashim Network

Investigators plan to use custody to map alleged command, weapons and narcotics pipelines across linked cases.

Overview

  • Special Cell’s Counter-Intelligence unit intercepted an SUV near Mahipalpur, arresting Mahfooz Ali alias Bobby Kabootar, partner Khushnuma Ansari and two associates, with firearms recovered and Arms Act cases registered.
  • Police say Ansari, a beautician who ran a parlour as a cover, is suspected of managing a drug syndicate; officers reported seizing narcotics and have dubbed her “Madam Zeher.”
  • Ali had been absconding for about seven years and, according to police, was wanted by multiple agencies including the NIA and in cases invoking organised-crime provisions.
  • Investigators allege Ali conducted reconnaissance before Sidhu Moosewala’s 2022 killing and supplied weapons, and they are probing links to the Dec 16, 2025 Jaffrabad double murder and the firing outside Disha Patani’s Bareilly home.
  • Delhi Police secured extended custody to interrogate the suspects on alleged roles spanning the Lawrence Bishnoi–Hashim Baba network, including possible support in the 2024 Nadir Shah murder and other gangland hits.
