Overview
- Delhi Police ran a two-day Training of Trainers programme in partnership with the Directorate of Education and SCERT at the Aadarsh Auditorium and online, organised in four half-day batches.
- Authorities say the programme trained about 1,509 government school teachers as master trainers and delivered parallel self-defence sessions that reached more than 3,500 people.
- Sessions covered the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012, NCPCR guidelines, school safety protocols and cyber-safety measures for classroom and online risks.
- Trained teachers will be expected to cascade child-safety lessons and activities in their schools while district-level committees will begin physical inspections of school safety measures next week.
- The drive is part of the city’s Child Safety Month and uses a master-trainer model to scale legal knowledge and practical safeguards across Delhi’s government schools.
