Delhi Police Bust Rs 16-Crore Cyber-Fraud Hub, Two Dummy Directors Held

- Police said they dismantled a laundering setup that used mule accounts and shell firms and arrested Sonu Kumar and Aminder Singh as alleged dummy directors.
- The probe, triggered by alerts on the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal and the Samanvaya portal, identified a Messit Tradex Pvt Ltd account at a Bawana branch tied to 336 fraud complaints.
- Financial analysis found more than Rs 16 crore moved through the account in eight days with links to over 35 suspected shell companies.
- Officers described a scheme that lured people with job offers, seized control of their phones, email, net banking and UPI, and used fake KYC documents to open or run accounts.
- Police seized bank records, fake KYC files and digital trails, registered the case under BNS sections 112, 317(2) and 317(5), mapped hotspots in Pitampura and Rani Bagh, and urged reporting via 1930 or cybercrime.gov.in.
