Overview
- Delhi's Crime Branch, which raided the Khanjawala factory Thursday, also uncovered a Dwarka godown that reprinted expiry dates and arrested four suspects across the two sites.
- At the Khanjawala unit, police arrested owner Hari Om Mishra and seized 2,100 filled tubes, 10,472 empty tubes with packaging, about 200 cartons, and drums of blue paste made in unhygienic conditions.
- Company officials from Sensodyne confirmed the seized toothpaste was counterfeit after police found branded tubes being filled with locally prepared paste.
- In Dwarka’s Bamnoli area, officers detained Kamal Mudgil, Shivam Singh, and Lokesh Kumar and recovered 3,096 soft drink cans and large stocks of biscuits with forged dates, plus a printing machine and thinner used to erase original markings.
- FSSAI officers collected samples at the Dwarka site and cases were registered, with investigators now tracing suppliers and outlets to stop tampered goods from reaching shoppers.
