Overview
- The Special Cell registered an FIR under Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita Sections 196, 197, 152 and 61 following videos threatening unrest in the capital ahead of 26 January.
- In the clip, Gurpatwant Singh Pannun claimed sleeper cells had pasted pro-Khalistan posters in Delhi and warned of disruptions around Republic Day.
- Police teams searched the locations he cited but found no posters or related material, and said verification and further legal action are underway.
- Separately, the External Affairs Ministry condemned trespass and vandalism at the Indian embassy in Zagreb after a video showed the Indian flag removed and a Khalistan flag raised, urging Croatian authorities to hold perpetrators accountable under the Vienna Convention.
- Security has been reinforced across New Delhi for the parade with multi-layered deployment, extensive surveillance and anti-drone units in place.
