Delhi Police Arrest Alleged Inter-State Arms Supplier Near Delhi–Loni Border
Police say the capture disrupts a pipeline of homemade guns tied to murders across the Delhi region.
Overview
- The Anti-Gangster Squad, which set a trap on March 25 near the Delhi–Loni border, arrested Mohammad Israr and seized a single-shot pistol.
- Israr, known as Katta and based in Shamli, had been on the run since August 2024 and carried a combined reward of Rs 55,000 from Delhi and Haryana police.
- Police say he supplied weapons to gangs operating in Delhi, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh and is wanted in at least six cases that include murder and robbery.
- Investigators link him to an illegal arms workshop in Kairana that was dismantled about two months earlier.
- Probes have tied his guns to the July 2024 killing of Jaipal Dudhiya in Gohana and to an August 2024 arrest of a shooter named Ankit found with multiple pistols and cartridges.
