Delhi Launches Inaugural International Film Festival, March 25–31

Officials frame the citywide, free-to-register program as a springboard for emerging talent to position the capital as a film hub.

Overview

  • The week-long IFFD will present 140 films chosen from more than 2,000 entries submitted from over 40 countries.
  • Screenings and events will be staged across the city, including at Bharat Mandapam, Yashobhoomi and Kartavya Path, alongside masterclasses and cultural programs.
  • The lineup ranges from international cinema to regional Indian films across multiple languages, with Bollywood selections including Dhurandhar 2.
  • Highlights announced include a 4K restoration of Guru Dutt’s Pyaasa and a curated package from the Singapore International Film Festival, with Amoeba slated as the closing film.
  • Public entry will be free via prior registration, and officials say the festival is intended to become an annual event under the Delhi government’s culture and tourism push.
