Delhi Issues Traffic Curbs and Route Rules Ahead of Guruji Birthday Gathering

The controls are intended to prevent heavy congestion, keep routes open for emergency services, streamline entry and parking for devotees.

Overview

  • The Delhi Traffic Police posted an advisory on Monday, July 6, putting special traffic arrangements in place for Guruji's birthday at Guruji Ashram in Bhatti Mines on July 7.
  • Heavy Transport Vehicles (HTVs) are banned on Bhatti Mines Road between SSN Marg and the Gurugram Road T‑Point from 12:00 midnight on July 6 to 12:00 midnight on July 7 to reduce congestion.
  • All entry to the ashram will be routed via SSN Marg, parking inside the complex has been arranged, and roadside parking on SSN Marg is prohibited with improperly parked vehicles towed.
  • Emergency vehicles, including police, ambulances and fire brigade units, will be allowed through and are advised to use Mehrauli–Gurugram Road if coming from Faridabad to avoid delays.
  • Authorities expect thousands of devotees and several VIPs, so commuters are urged to avoid the listed Mehrauli routes or arrive before 5:00 am and to use alternate roads or public transport to limit disruption.
