Delhi Issues Match-Day Traffic Curbs Near Arun Jaitley Stadium for April 27 IPL Game

The advisory channels crowds to marked parking and fixed taxi points to ease pressure on central Delhi roads.

Overview

  • Delhi Traffic Police has issued an advisory for the Delhi Capitals vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru match on April 27, directing match-day curbs around the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
  • Heavy congestion is expected on Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, Jawaharlal Nehru Marg, Asaf Ali Road, and the Ring Road stretch between Rajghat and the I.P. Flyover near the venue.
  • Authorities plan diversions as needed and will bar heavy and commercial vehicles on key stretches that link Daryaganj, Delhi Gate, ITO, and Guru Nanak Chowk to keep emergency access open.
  • Parking near the stadium requires valid labels, with free Park & Ride lots at Mata Sundari Road, Rajghat Power House Road, and Velodrome Road supported by shuttle buses beginning two hours before the match and running until one hour after it ends; illegally parked vehicles will be towed.
  • Spectators are asked to use gate-specific routes for entry and to use fixed app-taxi pickup points near Gate No. 2 by Maulana Azad Medical College, at Rajghat Chowk, and on the Ring Road service lane, while non-attending commuters are urged to avoid the area or take public transport.
