- Delhi Transport Corporation, which expanded its 'Jaldoot' effort Friday, is offering free drinking water on about 3,000 buses across the city.
- 'Jaldoots' are now stationed at 23 major bus terminals to hand out water to passengers and on-duty staff during peak heat.
- Operational plans include 200 ml packaged water on moving buses and fixed dispensers at select terminals, according to a DTC official.
- Chief Minister Rekha Gupta ordered heat-care readiness that includes extra beds, supplies at more than 339 health centres, over 30 hospital cool rooms, training for 174 medical officers and ASHA workers, and 330 ambulances on standby.
- Officials also launched public guidance that includes a citywide awareness push, a school water-bell prompt for regular drinking, and DTC advice to limit time in direct sun during the hottest hours.
