Delhi Discoms Announce Daytime Maintenance Outages Across Multiple Localities

Companies say the planned shutdowns are meant to boost network reliability while the state load despatch centre watches high heat-driven demand.

Overview

  • BSES Rajdhani (BRPL) published scheduled maintenance outages for South and West Delhi on June 29 that listed specific pockets and two- to three-hour windows for work and restoration.
  • On June 30 BRPL, BSES Yamuna (BYPL), and Tata Power Delhi (TPDDL) issued expanded daytime outage notices covering areas including Rohini, Janakpuri, Pitampura, Saket, Vasant Kunj, Laxmi Nagar, and Krishna Nagar.
  • Most June 30 notices give work windows roughly between 10:00 and 17:00 and state power is normally expected to be restored within two to four hours after work is completed.
  • The Delhi State Load Despatch Centre is monitoring real-time grid demand and officials warned that schedules may be revised if heat-driven load or weather conditions require changes.
  • Discoms urged residents to charge essential devices, unplug sensitive appliances, use provided helplines and apps for updates, and prepare for possible longer interruptions because the ongoing heatwave and delayed monsoon raise peak demand.
