Delhi Crime Branch Nabs Two Wanted Suspects in Separate Attempt-to-Murder Cases
Investigators cite intelligence-led raids to curb violent offenders.
Overview
- Anish alias Ishwar Dayal, 23, was arrested on March 18 in Delhi for a March 6 Narela incident in which a woman was threatened at her water plant and a shot was fired at a wall.
- Police say Anish had been absconding since March 7 and was booked under BNS and the Arms Act, with custody taken under Section 35(1)(C) of the BNSS by an RK Puram Crime Branch team led by Inspector Rampal.
- During preliminary interrogation, Anish allegedly confessed he acted to assert local dominance and referenced a prior enmity involving an associate and a man named Rohit.
- In a separate operation, the WR-I unit arrested Zishan Ahmad Idrishi, 27, on March 19 in Chand Nagar, Tilak Nagar, in connection with a Diwali 2025 Keshav Puram firing that injured Bhanu Kumar and is registered as FIR No. 583/25.
- Police note Idrishi had non-bailable warrants and prior arrests in a 2020 Sagarpur firing case and a 2022 Punjabi Bagh snatching case, as further investigation and legal proceedings continue.
