Delhi Crime Branch Arrests 70-Year-Old Accused in 2020 Thumb-Chopping Case

The capture ends a six-year search in a case police tie to an extortion over an alleged Rs 11 lakh debt.

  • Investigators say they used technical surveillance and local intelligence to trace the suspect to Bihar, and during questioning he allegedly confessed and said he kept changing locations.
  • The case lists charges of wrongful confinement, robbery, criminal intimidation and use of deadly weapons under the Indian Penal Code, and three co-accused were arrested earlier by local police.
