Delhi Crime Branch Arrests 3 Asad Gang Sharpshooters After Usmanpur Shootout

Overview

• Acting on specific inputs, a Crime Branch team laid a pre-dawn trap on the old Wazirabad–Usmanpur Road and intercepted a white motorcycle around 2:05 am.
• When signalled to stop, the riders allegedly opened fire; officers returned fire in self-defence targeting the legs, injuring all three before overpowering them.
• The arrested men were identified as Asad, Amir alias Hussain, and Aahil alias Jawwad, all residents of Meerut.
• Police recovered three .32-bore semi-automatic pistols with 11 live and nine spent cartridges, and found the motorcycle had been stolen from Dayalpur.
• Officials said the arrests solve the February 6 murder case of Aslam; the trio was hospitalized, an FIR was registered, and further investigation continues.
