Delhi Court Extends Police Custody of Four Suspects Linked to ISI and Underworld

The five-day remand allows UAPA-enabled custodial interrogation, forensic analysis, financial tracing and digital examination to pursue alleged Pakistan-based handlers.

Overview

  • Patiala House Court on Wednesday granted a five-day extension of police custody for Harvinder Singh, Manjeet Singh, Gagandeep (reported also as Gurvinder) Singh and Ang Kami Lama to allow further interrogation.
  • Delhi Police has invoked the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and says the suspects are accused of conspiring to carry out terror attacks in Delhi, Mumbai and other cities.
  • Investigators told the court they have arrested nine people in the probe and that two other accused, Nitish and Vijay Paswan, remain in judicial custody.
  • Police reported recoveries of a weapons cache including Pakistan-manufactured hand grenades, Glock pistols and live cartridges and said the module conducted reconnaissance of sensitive locations.
  • Authorities say the probe is at a crucial early stage and that continued custody is needed to identify financiers, facilitators and cross-border handlers, which may lead to further arrests and heightened security in major cities.
