Delhi Confectioner Mutilated Over Unpaid Wedding Bill as Police Arrest Main Accused

Police say the attack followed a dispute over about Rs 2 lakh owed for wedding services.

  • Officers said the April 20 event cost about Rs 2.5 lakh and that roughly Rs 2 lakh remained unpaid when the dispute boiled over.
  • According to police, Ajay Pal and two to three associates caught Gupta, took him to a rooftop, and used a power grinder to cut his hands.
  • Gupta was first taken to Rashi Medical Centre and then referred to AIIMS, where doctors confirmed grievous wounds that required advanced care.
  • Dabri police registered a case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, arrested Ajay Pal, detained two juveniles, and are searching for others as the Dwarka DCP pledged strict action.
