Delhi CM Inaugurates Rebuilt Park Street Sub-Station to Power Key Metro Lines

The rebuilt Park Street power hub restores Metro traction capacity displaced by Central Vista works.

Overview

  • The facility was completed in December 2025 after an 18‑month rebuild on CPWD-provided land following its 2021–22 dismantling for Central Vista redevelopment.
  • DMRC says the sub-station will supply the Airport Line, the Violet Line, and the planned Indraprastha–R K Ashram Marg corridor.
  • Major systems have been installed or recommissioned, including 66 kV power transformers, 66 kV and 25 kV gas‑insulated switchgear, and 33 kV panels.
  • Additional 25 kV feeders, advanced substation automation, energy‑efficient VRF air‑conditioning, LED lighting, and automatic fire protection are designed to bolster reliability.
  • The facility has been designed for green‑building compliance with certification applied for and a rooftop solar system planned, while the Chief Minister pledged continued support for new Metro corridors.
