Delhi CM Clears ₹85 Crore for SC/ST Colony Projects After Welfare, Village Rollout

  • Rekha Gupta approved 146 development works worth about ₹85 crore for SC/ST colony clusters at Malkaganj Chowk in Timarpur, covering roads, parks, sewer lines, chaupals and drinking water upgrades.
  • At the event, nine completed works worth ₹4.12 crore were inaugurated and foundation stones were laid for 64 new projects amounting to ₹38.63 crore, with remaining schemes to start after pending formalities.
  • A day earlier, ₹12.40 crore was directly transferred to 15,706 children of registered construction workers under the welfare board’s education assistance programme.
  • The stipend schedule provides ₹500 per month for Classes 1–8, ₹700 for Classes 9–10, ₹1,000 for Classes 11–12, ₹3,000 for undergraduates and up to ₹10,000 for technical and professional courses.
  • The rural push included laying foundations for 59 projects across 37 villages (₹134 crore), alongside a larger pipeline where 705 village works worth ₹1,556 crore have administrative approval and ₹157 crore has been released.
