- Chief Minister Rekha Gupta held new pre-budget meetings with gig workers, farmers, rural representatives and labour groups, assuring their inputs will inform the 2026-27 budget due March 24.
- Gig worker proposals included safe parking, expanded EV charging and subsidies for women buyers, links to provident fund and health schemes, possible employee status, more public toilets and a dedicated task force.
- Farm and rural suggestions focused on irrigation and road upgrades, mandi reforms, village amenities, recognition of farmer status, subsidies, land policy fixes, circle-rate revisions, better compensation and easier credit via Kisan Credit Cards.
- Earlier ‘Samvad’ sessions with students, teachers, working women and sportspersons urged extending mid-day meals to Class 12, building creches and safer commuting infrastructure, AI-based teacher training and creating residential sports academies.
- Ahead of the budget, the CM launched WCD tools and services—such as the JJMIS portal, a schemes compendium, health kits and Anganwadi incentives—inspected care facilities, and signalled SHG expansion and ‘Mahila Haat’ support while hearing industry asks on policy and infrastructure reforms.
