Overview
- Approval follows the Centre’s December clearance and adds about 16 km of new track across 13 stations under Phase V(A).
- The three links are RK Ashram Marg–Indraprastha via Central Vista (9.91 km), Tughlakabad–Kalindi Kunj (3.9 km) and Aerocity–IGD Terminal‑1 (about 2.26 km), with 10 stations underground and three elevated.
- The RK Ashram Marg–Indraprastha corridor will pass key administrative and cultural nodes including Central Secretariat, India Gate, the High Court and Bharat Mandapam, with officials projecting benefits for around 60,000 government employees and nearly 200,000 daily commuters.
- Estimated costs by corridor are ₹9,570.40 crore for RK Ashram–Indraprastha, ₹1,419.64 crore for Aerocity–IGD T‑1 and ₹1,024.87 crore for Tughlakabad–Kalindi Kunj, with Delhi contributing ₹2,337.24 crore, ₹351.86 crore and ₹251.36 crore respectively.
- DMRC has invited bids to design and build twin underground tunnels and two stations along the Central Vista segment between Shivaji Stadium and Central Secretariat up to Kartavya Bhawan.
