Delhi Cabinet Clears DBT Payout Equal to One LPG Cylinder on Holi and Diwali

Credits will be sent to Aadhaar-linked bank accounts, with lower transfers for PMUY beneficiaries to account for the central subsidy.

Overview

  • Each eligible ration card–holding household will receive Rs 853 per festival, while PMUY beneficiaries will get Rs 553 after the Rs 300 central subsidy adjustment.
  • Payments are scheduled before Holi on March 4, 2026, and again before Diwali on November 8, 2026.
  • The scheme covers all valid ration card holders, including households using piped natural gas, and applies even if no cylinder refill occurs that month.
  • Funds will be transferred via Direct Benefit Transfer into the Aadhaar-seeded bank account of the head of the family.
  • The government has set aside about Rs 242.77 crore for 2026, with costs subject to revision based on LPG prices, central subsidies, and beneficiary numbers, and officials frame it as a BJP manifesto pledge delivered.
