Overview
- Police say the 29-year-old driver spent about 45 minutes scouting a south Delhi footpath before allegedly forcing a sleeping 10-year-old into his car at around 4:15am on Monday and driving toward Mandi village and the Gurugram–Faridabad Road.
- Officers traced and arrested the suspect in west Delhi’s Vikaspuri within six hours while he was dropping off a passenger, and the girl's body was recovered about 11 to 12 hours later after the accused led police to the site.
- During a reconstruction at Mandi village, investigators say the accused tried to snatch an officer’s gun and was shot in the leg in a brief exchange with police.
