Overview
- Lawmakers approved the 2026–27 budget by voice vote Friday after AAP MLAs boycotted the sitting, setting total spending near Rs 1.03 lakh crore.
- Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said the previous AAP government left a roughly Rs 47,000 crore debt with about Rs 27,547 crore still unpaid.
- Gupta listed pending bills that the state must meet, including about Rs 3,700 crore for expressways, Rs 9,087 crore for metro work, more than Rs 2,000 crore for hospitals, and Rs 1,031 crore tied to DMRC–PWD projects.
- The government said it has started clearing arrears, citing Rs 114 crore paid for SC, ST and OBC tuition fees, Rs 538 crore for government colleges, and releases for scholarships and sports awards.
- In what leaders called a push for accountability, the Assembly invoked recent CAG findings to question past policies, issued formal warnings to Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, Ram Niwas Goyal and Rakhi Birla over the 'Phansi Ghar' claim, and reported a third bomb‑threat email with tighter security at the House.
